DID YOU KNOW THE EXPANSION OF THE UNIVERSE WAS REVEALED WAY BEFORE 1920’s ?

 

 The universe is expanding every day and we get to know it in 1929 from Edwin Hubble who is an America Astronomer. Edwin Hubble revealed that the universe of ours is expanding day by day and it will expand for unlimited years , causing known-unknown things to our universe such as : “Redshift”, “Big Crunch” or the mighty “Big rip” •Now what is the Hubble’s Law ? Hubble’s law is also knows as Hubble-Lemaître law which is the observation in physical cosmology that galaxies are moving away from Earth at speeds proportional to their distance. •Now we have the basic idea of Universe Expanding and Hubble’s law, let me take you to the mind blowing part: Hubble’s law was revealed in 1929 by the main guy and before that , people had no idea about the universe expanding…or did they ? •How did we know it before Hubble ? So ,A Religious scripture called “The Qur’an” is the main book of Muslims. They believe it to be the word of GOD which was revealed in 1400 AD to Muhammad who is a prophet. Now, the Quran mostly talks about the belief of muslims and guide them to be good muslim and person but it also talks about some scientific topics which most people tend to ignore. In the 51st chapter, Surah Adh-Dhariyat, Verse 51:47, it tells us about the expanding of Universe/heaven. The verse below : “We built the heavens with might, and indeed,We are it’s expander” In this verse “we” refers to God himself or “Allah” who tells us about the expanding of Heaven or Universe . The verse is interpreted by many referring to the expansion of the universe. It is crazy how almost 625 years ago, it was revealed. Some Islamic scholars and commentators interpreted this verse as a pre-scientific prediction of he universe’s expansion, highlighting the Quran’s potential for containing scientific insights There is also a debate among scholars about the precise meaning of this verse, and some interpret it as referring to the power of God to create and expand the heavens, rather than a specific scientific phenomenon Other verses in the Quran, such as 55:33, are also interpreted as encouraging exploration of the cosmos, suggesting that if humans are capable of going beyond the spheres of the heavens and the earth, they should do it. It is exciting to have this kind of information and we hope that in future, we get to know more about science in various religious scripture and historic books.
